Committees

BBBS currently consists of eight Committees.
Their core objectives are as follows:

1. Fund Development & Sponsor Relations Committee
To increase the levels of financial contributions to and sponsorship of the organization.

2. Marketing Committee
To enhance internal and external communications, develop materials and presentation packages, and work together with local publications to develop relationships that will support our cause/events.

3. Strategic Planning & Committee Development Committee
To review the organization’s constitution, review the innovative Alpha Phi Alpha Committee partnership, examine introducing a new program in 2004 and report the organization’s successes in an Annual Report

4. Events Committee
To increase participation at the many events held to support relationships.

5. Personnel, Staff & Board Development Committee
To review case management and staff performance standards, improve Board-staff communications, provide developmental opportunities for staff and Board members, and oversee the hiring and selection of staff.

6. Scholarship Committee
To develop a funding needs projection, establish application and selection guidelines for the scholarship, and select and award scholarships.

7. Finance Committee
To prepare the annual budget, review control procedures, identify opportunities to be more fiscally responsible, and ensure the timely preparation of Audited Financial Statements.

8. Volunteer Management & Recruitment Committee
To manage volunteers and improve our volunteer recognition system through organizing rap sessions, coordinating presentations, obtaining feedback on current volunteer satisfaction levels, improving communication with current volunteers and recruiting additional volunteers to the organization.
